BACKGROUND
The Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme Assistant will ensure that Climate Change Unit business services are accomplished in an effective, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with all legislative, policy and procedural guidelines of IUCN and the local labor law, as applicable


**Relieving arrangement encompasses shift of reporting to current RPC, Mr Mason Smith.
Effective 10.03.17-Reporting to Dau as interim EPC.
Effective 28.09.17 reporting to new EPC.
JOB DESCRIPTION
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

1.Maintain up-to-date information and communications on Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme project activities for donors, project partners and other stakeholders

•Circulation of quarterly issues of Programme Newsletter
•Preparation of regular reporting to donors; and
•Updating or programme/project of the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme webpage
•Updating of the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme project portal

2.Assist staff of the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme in the implementation of programme/activities as and when he need arises:

•Delivery of administrative activities such as taking notes at workshops, meetings and drafting reports/contracts related to energy on behalf of the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme Coordinator; and
•Follow up on finance/reports from the consultants hired by the programme,
•Some work may involve travel, including outside of Fiji

3.Provide administrative support to the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme:

•Organize logistics for travel, workshop and meetings related to the programme as a whole;
•Keep records of reports, publications, and meetings, and coordinate filing;
•Provide administrative assistance to the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme; and
•Other duties as reasonable required by the Climate Change Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction Programme Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Higher level education (minimum Form 7); other training. focuses may be considered as long as the candidate has acceptable competencies for the tasks described above

• Excellent written and spoken English;

• Self-starter with proven organisation skills;

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office essential.(Word, Excel, Power point and outlook);

• Ability to work well under pressure;

• Ability to deal tactfully with sensitive or confidential issues and information;

• Be computer literate with proven knowledge of software (word processing, spread sheets, e-mail and Internet);

• Be hard working and able to work under pressure;

• Be smart, honest, trustworthy and a good communicator.


Please Note: The above ToR contains the main responsibilities and duties of this position. However, in an ever evolving organisation such as IUCN, staff members are expected to show flexibility in their approach to work and be willing to undertake tasks that are reasonably allocated to them but which are not part of their regular ToR. When any task becomes a regular part of the staff member’s responsibilities, the ToR should be changed in consultation between the manager, staff member and HR Unit. Any one of the three may initiate the consultation
