Website Manager
|
IUCN seeks a Website Manager (P2) to oversee and optimise the organisation’s digital presence. This role combines web content strategy, technical management, user experience design, and hands-on publishing to ensure IUCN’s website is effective, secure, and engaging for global audiences. The position works closely with internal teams, external contractors, and IUCN’s Global Information Systems Group (GISG).
Website Content Management and Publishing (30%)
• Publish, maintain, and optimise web content prepared by the Global Communications Unit and other IUCN teams.
• Ensure content consistency, logical structure, and a positive user experience.
• Manage taxonomies, user permissions, and CMS interface.
• Maintain compliance with IUCN’s visual identity, communications standards, and web best practices, including SEO and social media optimisation.
• Design and adapt digital assets such as graphics, infographics, and banners to support web content and campaigns.
• Contribute to the development of visually engaging digital materials aligned with IUCN’s brand and communication goals.
User Experience and Website Design (10%)
• Contribute to ongoing improvements of site structure, navigation, and usability.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners on website redesigns or major updates.
• Advise on UX best practices, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Conduct or support user testing, analytics reviews, and feedback analysis.
Training, Support, and Guidance (15%)
• Train and provide technical support to IUCN site managers.
• Develop and update website policies, guidelines, and training materials.
• Support site managers in effectively using website features.
Technical Coordination and Maintenance (30%)
• Liaise with GISG and external consultants to resolve technical issues, including administration, development, server management, and maintenance.
• Identify and resolve platform bugs.
• Track and report KPIs using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Continuous Improvement and Strategy (15%)
• Provide strategic input into website development, redesign, and optimisation projects.
• Produce evidence-based insights to support future web initiatives.

• • University degree in communications, web/digital design, computer science, or a related field preferred. • Minimum 5 years in website management, including CMS administration. • Experience with Drupal required; other CMS experience desirable. • Proven track record in website redesigns, UX improvements, and digital design. • Experience with Google Analytics; knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console advantageous. • Familiarity with A/B testing tools, user testing, and data visualisation is an asset. • Advanced HTML; familiarity with JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, PHP, and XML desirable. • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design/prototyping tools. • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, accessibility, and responsive design. • Skills in image, video, infographic, and graphic design considered an asset. • Professional proficiency in English required; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is an advantage. • Proactive, autonomous, and results focused. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment. • Creative, adaptable, and solution oriented. • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. • Flexible, with willingness to work outside normal hours when required. • Committed to continuous learning and professional development. |
