To support the planning, coordination, implementation, and documentation of IUCN's activities, IUCN seeks to recruit two interns who will gain practical experience in event management, stakeholder coordination, communications, and conservation programming.
Specific Responsibilities:
Event Coordination Support
•Assist in the planning and coordination of various events.
•Support preparation of meeting agendas, participant lists, invitations, and event schedules.
•Follow up with speakers, panellists, partners, and participants as required.
•Assist in logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops and events.
Stakeholder Engagement
•Support communication with government agencies, conservation organizations, academic institutions, development partners, and youth groups.
•Maintain stakeholder databases and contact lists.
•Assist in coordinating participant registration and correspondence.
Documentation and Reporting
•Prepare meeting notes and minutes.
•Support documentation of event proceedings, key discussions, and recommendations.
Communications and Visibility
•Support development of communication and outreach materials.
•Assist in drafting social media content, event updates, and success stories.
•Support photography, participant interviews, and event documentation where required.
Administrative Support
•Maintain filing systems and event records.
•Support procurement and logistics processes.
•Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities including data entry, analysis, and reporting.
•Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor in line with the internship objectives.

• Education -Bachelor's degree (recently completed within the last 2 years) in Environmental Science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Geography, Development Studies, Agriculture, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or a related field. -Master's degree students or recent graduates will also be considered. -Candidates currently enrolled in a graduate programme may be considered if the internship is part of their academic requirement. •Competencies -Strong interest in conservation, climate change and sustainable development. -Good organizational and coordination skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. -Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks. -Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders. •Expected Learning Outcomes The interns will gain: -Gained practical experience in conservation and development programme management. -Developed skills in research, data collection, and analysis applicable to biodiversity and climate change contexts. -Built an understanding of how global frameworks (CBD, UNFCCC, SDGs) translate into national and local programmes in Nepal. -Enhanced professional writing and communication abilities through report drafting and stakeholder engagement. -Expanded their professional network within the conservation, development, and government sectors in Nepal. -Strengthened their understanding of community-based approaches to conservation and livelihood development. -Practical skills in communications, documentation and project coordination. This position is based at IUCN Nepal Country Office, and only Nepali citizens are eligible to apply. |
