Leadership Support Manager
TRAFFIC International is a charity and limited company registered in the UK. TRAFFIC’s head office, based in Cambridge UK, provides worldwide leadership, coordination, cross-regional and corporate functions. TRAFFIC’s local engagement is managed through programme offices operating under the auspices of the UK charity, with staff based in a hub office and at other strategic locations where necessary. Programme offices operate within a geographic area of responsibility focused on one or multiple countries where TRAFFIC aims to help deliver priority programme outcomes. TRAFFIC works in strategic alliance with IUCN and WWF on wildlife trade issues.
The salary range for this position is between GBP 30,000 to 34,000 p.a
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Leadership Support Manager:
i. Provides support for Leadership Team Processes and Systems (50%)
ii. Provides support to the Executive Director (35%)
iii. Provides support for the Board (15%)
i. Provides Support for Leadership Team Processes and Systems
o Coordinates and monitors the review process for TRAFFIC research reports, including maintaining an up-to-date data base, providing clear guidance materials on good practices and lessons learned, and monitoring and reporting on issues and performance to Leadership Team.
o Serves as TRAFFIC lead on organizational sustainability, including representing TRAFFIC on the Cambridge Conservation Initiative Sustainability Committee, monitoring implementation of TRAFFIC Environmental Sustainability Policy, and tracking KPIs related to sustainability.
o Supports communication and coordination across the teams of the Global Office, as part of work program preparation, implementation, and monitoring, including ED Front Office, Programmes, Operations, Policy, and Communications.
o Maintains a “Priorities Watch List” of key activities and actions that need to be completed by the ED and leadership teams, and follows up as necessary to ensure timely and effective delivery.
ii. Provides Support to the Executive Director
o Helps with administrative support as needed, including calendaring, scheduling meetings and conference calls, and arranging travel.
o Prepares agendas, coordinates arrangements, and prepares minutes as needed for leadership meetings convened by the ED.
o Helps ensure the ED is appropriately prepared for meetings, including supporting the preparation of briefing notes, talking points, and presentations, and, when needed, participating directly in meetings and following up with the relevant parties.
o Manage a variety of special projects, including research, analysis, briefing notes, and follow-up in support of TRAFFIC work priorities, as needed.
iii. Provides Support to the Board
o Responsible for scheduling and arrangements for Board Meetings, including onboarding of new Trustees.
o Coordinates preparation of briefing materials for the Board.
o Prepares records of board meetings, including table of follow up actions to be monitored.
o Supports preparation of documents for UK Charity Commission, as needed, in collaboration with Operations Team.
