BACKGROUND
The Enterprise and Investment team (EIT) in the IUCN Centre of Economy and Finance consists of a global secretariat based at IUCN Headquarters and out-posted staff in North America and Brazil. EIT’s work is structured around three streams of work: Farmers and Supply Chains, Extractives and Finance.

The Farmers and Supply Chains stream of EIT’s portfolio focuses on private sector engagement, including farmers’ organisations, international agri-businesses and producers, to motivate and implement locally controlled forest landscape restoration and sustainable land management around the world.

EIT supports forest and farm producers’ organisations and tests innovative financing mechanisms for restorative action such as agroecological practices. Forest and farm producers organisations are small business entities with a wide an varied membership, making them excellent vector of changes for a nature positive production system.
