The Field Technical Assistant – Diploma in Civil Engineering- will be responsible for to support and assist the project field staff in managing and implementing the project activities up to the highest performance stander in the project of Job Creation to Prevent Soil Erosion and Reduce Evaporation in Zarqa Ma'in Dam. The project, which is funded by the GIZ, aims to improve the living conditions of Jordanian host communities and Syrian refugees by creating job opportunities to reduce soil erosion and evaporation in the Zarqa Ma'in dam. This project will generate 395 short-term employment opportunities to implement the diverse project interventions. The employment opportunities will be offered to local communities and Syrian refugees who have settled within the project area, with a focus on effectively engaging youth, women, and vulnerable groups in project activities.
The Field Technical Assistant - Diploma in Civil Engineering - is mainly responsible to support and assist the project staff in managing, carrying out, coordinating, and monitoring all project's interventions; comprising of constructing Gabions baskets, Riprap channels, watering troughs for cattle, shading the dam lake by shading ball techniques, rehabilitation of existing irrigation canal, afforestation, and rangeland restoration in accordance with the work plan and the highest performance implementation standards. The technical coordinator will report directly to the site coordinator and will interact with the project staff. The project Assistant is based in the IUCN-ROWA field offices in Madaba - Ma'in Dam.

DDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 Support and assist in managing, carrying out, coordinating, and monitoring all project interventions in full collaboration with project field staff and in full guidance of the project manager.
 Support and assist in implementing the project interventions considering the highest safety, performance, and implementation standers.
 On a daily basis, manage, supervise, advise, and monitor the CFWs to implement the daily field tasks up to the highest standards of work code of conduct. Under the full guidance of the field coordinator.
 Ensure the completion of each CFWs group to the daily task in accordance with the work plan.
 Ensure the implementation of interventions is up to stander in accordance with the design, drawings, specifications, work plans, and GIZ& IUCN regulations.
 Prepare and submit daily progress reports in compliance with the work plan and timeline.
 Assist in conducting regular technical and safety training for all CFWs in full collaboration with other field staff.
 Ensure taking all safety measures on the working site to secure the CFWs such as PPE.
 Assist and support the field administrative staff in the day-to-day management of all CFW affairs in full guidance with the project manager.
 Follow up on the complaints with full collaboration with the field administrative staff.
 Support and assist the administrative staff to follow up and monitor the daily attendance of CFWs and their leaves.
 Collaborate and follow up with the transportation company to manage, facilitate, and monitor the transportation of CFWs from assembly points to working sites and back under full guidance from the Filed Administrative staff.
 Assist and support providing CFWs with training on safety, labour rights, a code of conduct, and financial literacy, as well as post-employment support in full collaboration with the administrative staff.
 Establish and maintain positive working relationships among the CFWs and address social cohesion between the Syrian and Jordanian.
 Coordination with other field staff is essential for the project's success.
 Responsible for the project resources' safekeeping, handling, and management at the implementation site, according to his area of delegation and responsibilities.
 Provide the technical and administrative support where is needed.
 Performing any other duties as requested by the line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Diploma degree in Civil engineering or relative field (Bachelor degree will be advantage).
 3 years of relevant experience in NGO implementation projects as a field Assistant or Site Foreman.
 one year of relevant experience in CFW projects with implementing NGOs.
 Good knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as related to the implementation of interventions in compliance with plans and specifications. Knowledge of methods and techniques utilized in the construction of such projects.
 Experience in construction details of Gabion, riprap, and watering troughs activities.
 Knowledge of and adherence to the NGO Code of Conduct, and understanding of other international development guidelines.
 Good knowledge of MS Office software use epically word, excel and outlook as well as Auto CAD, GIS.
 Good interpersonal skills and have strong organisational ability.
 Good reporting skills.
 Good in written and spoken English required.
 A good team player but also willing to work on own initiative.
 Have a Valid driver’s license.
