BACKGROUND
This is a local recruitment. Only Thai nationals, individuals with residence status or the appropriate employment visa for Thailand are eligible to apply. The remuneration and benefits package for this position is established with reference to the local labour market and in line with the IUCN conditions of service for Thailand.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Assistant, Flora and Fauna Project will support Project Officer, Flora and Fauna Project on day-to-day coordination with stakeholders both at the national level and field coordination.

The Project Assistant, Flora and Fauna Project will play the role in administrative and financial support in delivering "Conserving Habitats for Globally Important Flora and Fauna in Production Landscapes” project. She will also be responsible for overall project administrative and financial management, ensuring that all deliverables under the project outcomes are achieved.


SPECIFIC DUTIES

1 Provide administrative and financial support to the Project Officer, Flora and Fauna Project, the Project Assistant of TEI based in ONEP office in Ranong province and implementing agencies assigned and agreed by the project (TEI and BCST);
• Assisting Project Officer, Flora and Fauna Project to coordinate and organize the monthly/quarterly/scheduled meetings with the project stakeholders based on the work plan;
• Coordinating with local communities, local stakeholders, national and sub-national committee of the project on workshop and training courses organized for the targeted beneficiaries
• Arranging payment requests and reimbursement for workshops, events, and training sessions organized by the project
• Ensuring the accuracy and punctuality of payments and relevant payment documents for all project activities, as well as provide supports to IUCN Finance for all financial matters
• Support Project Assistants (based in ONEP and Ranong) with the preparation of administrative and financial works for field works if needed
• Liaise with the Head of Office, Thailand Programme, and Project Officer, Flora and Fauna Project, and prepare the progress reports as required.
2 Support Project Officer, Flora and Fauna Project to maintain regular contacts with the local communities, local stakeholders, national, sub-national platform of committee, and implementing agencies assigned under the project administration

Other Duties
Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by, and mutually agreed with, the line manager.


Please Note: The above TOR contains the main responsibilities and duties of this position. However in an ever evolving organisation such as IUCN staff members are expected to show flexibility in their approach to work and be willing to undertake other tasks that are reasonably allocated to them but which are not part of their regular TOR. Where any task becomes a regular part of staff member’s responsibilities, the TOR should be changed in consultation between the manager, the staff member and the HR Unit. Any one of the three may initiate the consultation.
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in natural resources and environmental management, environmental studies, development studies, social sciences, and/or related fields

• At least 3 years of professional experience in community development and field coordination works;

• Strong work experience in facilitation, extension and communication;

• Good working experience in conservation-oriented livelihoods development;

• Able to work collaboratively as a team; and

• Experience working with local communities in the pilot areas is an advantage.

• Good command of written and spoken English and Thai is essential.
