
Intern - EU Liaison and EU Funding Support

WHAT WE OFFER
The internship provides a challenging and interesting opportunity to work in a dynamic international organization and to gain work experience in the field of EU nature conservation policies and funding instruments. Expected starting date of the internship is 1 July 2013.
- Collaborate with IUCN offices worldwide regarding their funding applications to the European Commission
- Conduct research on EU policy developments and EU funding instruments (to be specified)
- Assist in the development and circulation of the “EUpdate Newsletter” and “Funding information update”
- Attend meetings and conferences and report on the outcomes
- Assist in activities organized in the framework of the EP Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development
• The internship has to be mandatory or an optional course for gaining the diploma of the studies that the student is enrolled in (to be formalized by a work placement agreement/convention de stage between the academic institution and IUCN EU Representative Office) • Affinity with the vision and mission of IUCN • A keen interest in and basic understanding of issues relating to the conservation of biodiversity • Very good knowledge of EU policy-making • Studying towards a Master degree • Oral and written fluency in English; good command of French is an asset • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to work with short deadlines and multiple simultaneous tasks • Highly motivated to learn and develop new skills. |
