BACKGROUND
The Project Technical and Administrative Assistant will support the implementation of projects under the Water and Climate Change Programme at International Union for Conservation of Nature Regional Office for West Asia (ROWA). The role contributes to the effective coordination, follow-up, and monitoring of project activities in line with IUCN policies, operational procedures, and donor requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities

Project Technical and Administrative Assistant:
- - The Project Technical and Admin assistant will work mainly for the water and climate change program and assist the program manager for any other addition tasks with office.
- The Project Technical and admin, Assistant reports directly to the Water and Climate Change Program Manager while interfacing with other program managers, project Assistants, finance, and admin staff of ROWA.
- The Project Technical and Admin assistant is responsible for the preparation of IUCN work plan, BOQs, and progress report for requested by the project’s manager and the program manager.
- The Project Technical and Admin assistant is based in Amman and will be required to travel to project sites and other locations.


Specific Tasks
- Assist IUCN teams in the project to follow up, organize fieldwork and follow up Projects workplan.
- Conduct field surveys, visits and meetings related to projects and according to its implementation plan in coordination with the project managers.
- Assist the projects managers in drafting BOQs, designs, workplans, technical reports and handing over processes.
- Provide support for the project team and follow up the project consultancy contracts, payments, etc. with relevant functional units at IUCN ROWA.
- Support the project with procurement of goods and services related to the project activities in compliance with IUCN’s procurement policy and donor requirements.
- Preparing meeting minutes and keeping track and documentation of meetings.
- Set up calls, coordinate meetings, workshops and provide logistical support for the successful implementation of project activities as needed.

- Participates in meetings, workshops, and represents IUCN in international and regional events.

OTHERS:
- Perform any other duties as requested by the line manager.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in water, agriculture-related fields.

• Solid Experience in Geographic information systems GIS.

• Solid Experience in Irrigation network design software

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Projects related to Water, Energy, and Food Nexus.

• Field experience in on-farm water auditing, farmers practices survey and calculation of irrigation efficiency.

• Field experience in water harvesting projects with the ability to select sites for water harvesting and create designs of water harvesting structures.

• Fluent English speaking and writing
