This internship aims to offer students undergoing graduate or post-graduate studies a meaningful work experience by supplementing their learning through a practical and on-the-job training approach. In doing so, the intern’s knowledge is supplemented through a practical learning experience while IUCN derives some level of advantage from the young professional’s services as well as the possibility of gaining new perspectives from the intern.

BACKGROUND

JOB DESCRIPTION
The incumbent will be responsible to:
1. To get oriented with IUCN, its vision, mission and work in Pakistan,
2. Compile all the project data, documents, reports into the project files and organized
3. Draft meeting minutes and reports
4. Support project manager in correspondence and communication
5. Support project manager in compiling project reports
6. Other related documentation and reporting
7. Facilitate the Project team to coordinate and organize the project meetings and workshops
8. Facilitate Project team to organize provincial and ministerial workshops and fully participate
to build his personal capacity
9. Facilitate team in organizing the launching event

GUIDANCE AND MENTORING:
• The candidate once selected will be given an orientation of the TBTTP Project and whenever the opportunity comes on IUCN as an institution.
• Based on the interest of the candidate, the candidate will also be mentored about higher education avenues abroad and/or carrier planning in Natural Resource Management Field.
REQUIREMENTS
  • • Be enrolled in an undergraduate university programme (e.g., Bachelors or its equivalent) and not have graduated from it; or

• Be enrolled in a graduate university programme and not have graduated from it.

• Be in a “gap year” between studies with a clear goal of returning to complete or initiate studies at the end of the “gap year/period”.

• Be computer literate in standard software applications; proficient in the use of office applications (MS Word and Excel) and web-based management systems

• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

• Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
