IUCN Academy is seeking a Communication Assistant who is highly motivated, skilled, well organised and capable of operating pro-actively in a demanding fast-paced environment.
The newly-established IUCN Academy provides best-in-class learning experience for internal and external clients, utilising a broad and creative range of pedagogical methods. IUCN holds a great wealth of theoretical and practical knowledge on how society should sustainably use natural resources and biodiversity. The IUCN Academy will leverage this knowledge to train individuals (professionals and postgraduate students alike) with the knowledge and skills to drive the green transition our societies are calling for.
OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION;
The main objective of the position is to provide general support to the work of IUCN Academy, with an emphasis on tasks related to customer relations and, marketing and communications.
Support the implementation of the IUCN Academy communication and marketing strategy;
Manage the Academy mailbox and act as the point of contact for Academy customers, delivering a high quality customer experience
Feed, maintain and ensure the quality of the Academy social media activity
Implement social media campaigns
Provide support to the organisation and implementation of marketing activities
Update the IUCN Academy web platform with communication and course content as needed
Participate in the development of content for communication purposes
Participate in the reflection on the IUCN Academy communication and marketing strategy
Work with the Global Communications Unit to ensure IUCN Academy communications is aligned
Support the development and implementation of the IUCN Academy portfolio of activities;
Provide technical & administrative support to the organisation of the Academy courses including
General course management tasks
Technical support on the use of digital tools and platforms
Video recording and editing
Manage enrolment processes on IUCN Academy platform
General Administrative support to IUCN Academy;
Support the IUCN Academy Project Manager in coordinating meetings, take notes and organise the follow-up and tracking of agreed points
Process contracts with vendors
Invoice Academy customers and manage financial transactions with IUCN Finance Group
Convene the IUCN Academy Scholarship committee

• PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS; Completion of secondary education and at least five years of professional experience Training in communication and marketing or relevant experience in those fields. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in customer relations, and in marketing and communication Experience in managing social media accounts and campaigns a must Experience in the hospitality sector or in customer relation management a must Capacity to use and parameter Teams, Zoom, Trello Capacity to use Indisign and/use photoshop, as well as Premier Pro or Final cut Capacity to multi task and work under little supervision Well organised and pro-active attitude with a strong sense of responsibility Customer oriented and reactive to requests At ease in multicultural contexts, very good communication skills, sense of diplomacy and willingness to be part of a team Excellent English written and oral communication a must, working knowledge of French an asset , knowledge of Spanish a plus Interest in nature conservation and the broader topic of environmental sustainability. |
