BACKGROUND;
The IUCN Academy is seeking an Intern who is highly motivated with pro-active qualities, skilled, well organised and capable of operating effectively in a highly demanding fast-paced environment.
The IUCN Academy provides best-in-class learning experience for internal and external clients, utilising a broad and creative range of pedagogical methods. IUCN holds a great wealth of theoretical and practical knowledge on how society should sustainably use natural resources and biodiversity. The Academy leverages IUCN’s knowledge to train and educate both professionals and graduates for the world of tomorrow.
OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITIION;
The Intern of the IUCN Academy will provide support with administrative and financial tasks related to the Academy activities. He/she will also provide technical support to learning sessions, as well as respond to some requests of IUCN Academy participants. The role therefore requires attention to details, multicultural communication skills, customer-oriented behaviour and the ability to respond to email requests from customers in English (French would be an asset).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
Support the IUCN Academy with administrative and financial tasks.
Prepare and send invoices to participants in the IUCN Academy programme.
Manage the Academy mailbox and dispatch the different requests to the relevant team members for response when necessary.
Support the implementation of communication and marketing actions geared towards potential clients for the Academy programme.
Provide technical support during training programmes, such as helping with the organisation and management of live sessions (Zoom, Teams session support).
Other duties as may be required.
• REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible as an intern, applicants must be enrolled in a study programme at the time of the start of their contract with IUCN. Have the right to reside and work in Kenya for the full duration of the internship. Ongoing studies in administration, communication or finance, with an interest in executive online education. Very good English written communication skills, and ability to respond to requests in a professional and customer-oriented manner (French an asset). Knowledge of the use of video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Teams. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. Knowledge of social media accounts management an asset. Knowledge and/or interest of the education domain an asset. |
