EU Relationship/Partnership Coordinator

The IUCN European Regional Office (EURO) provides vital linkages for IUCN Members, National Committees, Commissions and the Secretariat to governments, EU institutions, NGOs, scientists, practitioners, the private sector and other stakeholders to accelerate the implementation of the European Green Deal, the EU 2030 Biodiversity Strategy and related biodiversity plans and strategies. It provides knowledge and advise decision makers to improve conservation policy and action, connect and engage.

• Affinity with the vision and mission of IUCN; • Master’s degree in natural sciences, environmental economics, or a related field. • At least 12 years of professional experience in a field related to natural resources management, environmental economics or nature policy of which at least 7 years in project management in an international context; • Proven record of accomplishments in project development and implementation; • Familiarity with EU funding and experience in project fundraising; • Proven expertise in developing and applying economic and financial analyses in the context of natural resources, climate change, or biodiversity. • Demonstrated experience engaging with the private sector and financial institutions. • Experience working within international development organizations, NGOs, or multilateral institutions. • Familiarity with global environmental policies, frameworks, and conventions, particularly those relevant to NbS. • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in economic modeling and data analysis. • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for economic and financial analysis. • Impeccable writing skills. A track record of publications and quantitative analysis is necessary. Ability to write, coordinate and/or edit assessment reports. • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams. • Full computer literacy, with experience in applying Microsoft Office as a minimum skill set; • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach. • Ability to work within a team and independently. • Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising the quality of outputs. • Highly motivated to learn and develop new skills, keen to bring in own ideas. • Ability to travel, at times frequently. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range of audiences. A second language (French, Spanish) is highly desirable. |
